Description
California State Flag History
The official California State Flag. The precursor of the flag was first flown during the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt and was also known as the Bear Flag. They issued a proclamation which declared California to be a Republic, independent of Mexico. The current flag, adopted as the State Flag by the State Legislature in 1911.
